A number of dispersal orders are in place in three areas of Colchester until near the start of evening to prevent anti-social behaviour.

The order started yesterday at 4pm and lasts until the same time today.

These changes mean officers are given the power to order people to leave if they believe they are acting anti-socially, or harassing or alarming other members of the public.

Inspector Martin Willsher said.

"This order is to ensure everyone can enjoy their Halloween weekend without being affected by others acting anti-socially.It’s provides the officers on patrol in this area an important and specific power to keep everyone safe."
