A 21-year-old from Danbury says he is ready for a "tough month" of running, as he begins his 31 half marathons in 31 days.

Harry Squires will run a half marathon every day until Christmas Eve, to raise money for the Children's Ward at Broomfield Hospital.

He is trying to raise £1,000 to help buy presents for those staying in hospital over the Christmas period.

Harry said he wants to give something back to the hospital that helped him with his epilepsy.

He has already completed challenging runs in the past, like the entire length of Luxembourg, and a run from Chelmsford to Cardiff in just six days.

Harry is raising money for Mid and South Essex Hospital's Charity.

Harry said: "It's going to be a long, long month but one I'm very much looking forward to.

"There's not a lot of nerves, I think especially with this, it's going to be a part of life for the month. I'll still be working 40 hours a week, but it's going to be just part of everyday life.

"I'll be raising money for Mid and South Essex Hospital's Charity, specifically Broomfield Hospital. I spent a lot of time there when I was younger. I was very grateful to all the people who worked there and all the people who helped me out.

"I think almost this was an aim to try and give back to the staff, as well as the children.

"It'll obviously be a tough month, but it won't be as tough as what they'll be facing around Christmas time."

Harry also said it would be nice to have a Christmas dinner, and "a few pints" once he finished his final run on Christmas Eve.
