First look images released for This City Is Ours

After filming wrapped in March and the teaser trailer was released in June, the BBC has now got fans even more excited for the second series of crime drama This City Is Ours.

Starring the likes of James Nelson-Joyce and Hannah Onslow, the popular drama is set for a return this Autumn, and the first look photos have now been released.

Both James Nelson-Joyce and Hannah Onslow, who play the roles of Michael Kavanagh and Diana Williams, feature in the new photos, as well as returning cast members Jack McMullen as Jamie Phelan, Mike Noble as Banksey, Julie Graham as Elaine Phelan, widow of murdered gang leader Ronnie (Sean Bean), Laura Aikman as Rachel Duffy, Kevin Harvey as Bobby Duffy, Saoirse-Monica Jackson as Cheryl Crawford, Darci Shaw as Melissa Sullivan, Adam Abbou as Freddie, and Bobby Schofield as Bonehead.

Fans also get to see new cast member Shaun Evans as former gangster Ozzie Thompson in the new photos, as well as Money Heist's Álvaro Morte, who will play Felipe Guzman, a member of the Colombian cartel and younger brother of Ricardo, who was murdered at the end of the first series.

When does it come out?

Although bosses are still keeping tight-lipped about the exact start date, the BBC has now teased the second series will land this Autumn!

In a post on social media in August 2026, the post read: 'James Nelson-Joyce and Hannah Onslow return in the new series, coming to BBC iPlayer and BBC One this Autumn'.

An early synopsis reads from the BBC reads: 'Picking up from where things were left at the end of series one, Michael and Diana have barely arrived in Spain when they are dragged back into the fold to answer questions around Ricardo’s death. Back in Liverpool, tensions continue to bubble amongst the remaining members of the gang. Meanwhile, an old school gangster from Ronnie's era, recently out of prison, wants compensation from the firm'.
