Maya Jama's replacement revealed for Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star
Maya hosted the last two series
Now she's the face of Love Island and landing rave reviews from viewers, Maya Jama has said goodbye to her presenting role on BBC Three show Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star.
Maya, who took over from Stacey Dooley to host series three and four, has stepped down from the role, with the BBC now revealing her replacement.
Who is the new host of Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star?
On Thursday 26th January, British supermodel Leomie Anderson was confirmed as the new host of Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star.
29-year-old Leomie said: “I am so excited to be joining Glow Up as the host as it’s such an incredible show! I have always been a huge fan and admire all the MUAs work who have been in there previously so to see it in real life is amazing! I can’t wait to work alongside the fabulous Val and Dom in a completely new territory too outside of modelling and get truly stuck in!”
Melissa Brown, Wall to Wall Executive Producer, said: “We are over the moon to have Leomie Anderson join Glow Up. Now in our fifth series, we are set to return bigger and better than ever, and it is an absolute joy to have Leomie now at the helm. I’m sure she will be a hit with viewers as much as she is with us.”
Fiona Campbell, Controller, BBC Three said: “I am thrilled that Leomie Anderson will be taking the reins as the new host of Glow Up. With her flair for modelling and fashion, I can’t wait to see her expertise in action! I also would like to thank our previous host the magnificent Maya Jama, we will miss her of course but she will always be a part of the Glow Up family.”
When is the new series of Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star?
Although bosses are yet to confirm an exact start date for series five, it has been confirmed the new series will air later in 2023.
Val Garland and Dominic Skinner will once again return to the show, bringing with them decades of experience in the industry.
Why did Maya Jama leave Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star?
It's understood Maya made the decision to quit her presenting role on Glow Up due to landing her dream job of being the Love Island host. Following Laura Whitmore's exit from the ITV2 show last year, it was confirmed that Maya would be taking over.
After the launch show in early January, Maya has been praised by both fans and critics for the main show, and Love Island: Aftersun.
How can I watch Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star?
Although the new series isn't out until later in the year, fans can watch series one-four of Glow Up on the BBC iPlayer.
