Big Brother official start date confirmed

After bosses shared the brand new eye logo last month, excitement is rife ahead of the 2026 series of Big Brother, as Will Best and AJ Odudu welcome a whole host of new faces into the famous house.

When does Big Brother start?

It's now been confirmed that Big Brother will begin at 9pm on Sunday 13th September 2026, on ITV2/STV2 and ITVX/STV Player.

Bosses say of the new series: 'Hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, Big Brother will see a new group of strangers move into the iconic Big Brother house. Reimagined as a house of surprises, this year will keep Housemates on their toes with unexpected twists and game-changing moments around every corner.

'Across the extended run, viewers can expect ambitious tasks, high-stakes nominations and dramatic live evictions as the Housemates face challenges at every turn in their bid to outlast their rivals. Who will be crowned this year’s winner and take home a life-changing cash prize? Who wins? You decide'.

At this stage, bosses are yet to unveil this year's housemates, but we do now know that GK Barry and former Big Brother contestant Kate Lawler will host a new spin-off series called Big Brother: The Group Chat.

Airing Sunday to Thursday nights straight after the main show, Big Brother: The Group Chat will give fans even more of the action, bringing them closer to the personalities, dynamics and relationships at the heart of the series.

The main series will once again be hosted by Hits Radio Breakfast host Will Best, who will also be taking part in this year's Strictly, as well as AJ Odudu.

Big Brother begins on Sunday 13th September on ITV2/STV2 and ITVX/STV Player.
