Channel 4 teases new 24 Hours in Police Custody two-part special

Excitement has been brewing since the weekend, when Channel 4 posted they would 'leak' details for the latest 24 Hours in Police Custody. And now the TV channel have shared more details about the upcoming two-part special 'The Ambush'.
Fans have been flocking to social media to share their excitement at the new series, which 'follows the inside story of the police investigation after a 17 year old boy was left critically injured on the roadside.'
Asking the show's fans: 'Was it a random attack, or something more sinister?'
Although the post doesn't feature a video, the pic shows the back of two police officers, walking away from the camera, confirming it will air over the English Bank Holiday weekend.
Since Channel 4 posted the details thousands of fans have been taking to the comments to share their excitement, with one writing: 'Been waiting for another one forever', another said: 'It’s about time, quality tv 📺 viewing this …. 👌🏼'.
A third commented: 'oooo! Another one to schedule in 👀'. (sic)
What is 24 Hours in Police Custody?
24 Hours in Police Custody first started airing on Channel 4 back in 2014, and mainly follows Bedfordshire Police as they investigate cases in Luton. The show ran for 10 series until 2022, along with several specials in recent years. The most recent shows were aired earlier this year, when five episodes were released between January and April, leaving fans calling for more.

It will air on Sunday 30th August 2026. The exact time has not been announced yet.

Doctor Foster

After series six aired in early 2025, ITV/STV bosses were quick to recommission crime drama Unforgotten for a seventh series, with Sanjeev Bhaskar and Sinéad Keenan set to return. There's no official start date just yet, but filming did begin at the start of 2026.
