Perrie on a Little Mix reunion, being a mum of two and more
She joined Hits Radio Breakfast for a chat
Last updated 9 hours ago
The wonderful Perrie joined Hits Radio Breakfast with Fleur East, Will and James, to chat about being a mum of two, her new song 'Passenger Princess' and when the hugely-anticipated Little Mix reunion is going to happen. 👀
After welcoming her second child, a little girl called Alanis Valentine, earlier this year, Perrie has continued to release music, with 'Woman In Love', followed by her latest release 'Passenger Princess'.
Will there be a Little Mix reunion?
It's been four years since Little Mix last performed together on their 'Confetti' tour, and while they all have successful solo careers, fans have been calling out for a reunion of Perrie along with JADE and Leigh-Anne.
When Perrie was asked about a reunion, she told us: "That's what I keep asking the girls. I'm like, realistically guys, how long and when? Just give me a ballpark, like, you know, I think like, yeah, we're all just excited for that to happen one day, hopefully.
"But I think we're in such a good position, like not to blow our own trumpet or whatever, but you know, we were so good... We were, you were so good.
"The songs, the vibes, the choreo, the performances, we just threw everything at it. And I feel like because we have such a core fan base, we can just be like, do you know what, in a few years time, be like, yeah, why not? Don't you think?"
When Fleur and James asked whether it could be two or three years, Perrie didn't commit, just telling them: "That's what I keep asking."
'Passenger Princess'
Joining us on the day that she dropped her new single, Perrie revealed that 'Passenger Princess' is the end of her 'Perrie Era', saying: "I love the lyrics. I think it’s so relatable, it's just fun.
"I love it so much and it's the closing of the Perrie era. So this is like the end of the campaign, so to speak. OK, yes, we're closing it."
While she didn't reveal what the new era would be, she opened up about being a solo artist, admitting: "I know the vibe (of the new era). I know what I want, I know the direction. I just need to get it all in order.
"I think it's hard. Like I never saw myself as a solo artist. Like Little Mix are my comfort blanket always. And I feel like I thrive in a group dynamic, whereas when I'm on my own, I was a bit like, oh, 'OK, this is new'. I need to figure this out."
Perrie as a mum of two
Following the arrival of her second child with fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alanis, Perrie revealed what it was like being a mum of two, admitting: "The dynamic shift is wild."
The singer explained: "I think it's harder for the first child not being able to... because I'm Axel's everything and he takes every bit of my time and he's quite like spoiled in that way. Kicks it, but he is.
"And then, obviously, when the baby came along, he was a bit like, ‘Hang on, what about me?’ And he told his teacher he's being naughty on purpose, and that broke me. He's like, 'Miss, I'm being naughty at home because when I'm naughty, my mama then gives me all the attention' and I'm like..."
She continued: "But I think that's been the hardest because I feel like second child, they just crack on. That's so easy. What is that?!
"You're less stressed and worried and you're like, 'oh, they'll be fine'. You're less quiet around the house, there's no sneaking around. It's like crash bag wallop and they're just snoozing."
