Myles Smith releases short film Hold Me in the Dark starring Stephen Graham

Luton-born singer-songwriter Myles Smith has unveiled his filmmaking talents with the release of his directorial debut - a short film called Hold Me in the Dark, featuring one of Britain’s most celebrated actors. The folk-pop artist, whose hit 'Stargazing' has garnered hundreds of millions of streams, has teamed up with Adolescence star Stephen Graham for the project.

Now, fans can witness Smith's creative vision come to life on screen. But what's the story behind this collaboration and where can you watch it?

What is Hold Me in the Dark about?

Hold Me In The Dark is an atmospheric short film that tells 'one of those stories' about raw human connection and emotional depth. The film centres on themes of vulnerability and support, mirroring his latest song of the same name's lyrics about seeking comfort.

Sharing the trailer on Instagram, Myles said of the collaboration: 'I met Stephen a while back and we instantly got on. He’s one of my favourite actors of all time, so getting the chance to create something together has been pretty surreal.

'From the very beginning, what connected us was a shared belief in the power of storytelling. Stephen through film, me through music. We both care deeply about telling honest stories that make people feel seen, raise awareness of important issues, and start conversations that matter.'

He added: 'Hold Me In The Dark is one of those stories (..) I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve made together. It’s raw, honest and means a lot to both of us. I can’t wait for you all to see it and become part of the conversation.'
