Action-packed trailer drops for documentary film following the Blackpink singer Lisa

Kpop music and bands' popularity has increased hugely over recent years, and one of the biggest groups around is Blackpink, who dropped their mini album 'Deadline' earlier this year.

Now, a documentary film about Blackpink member and solo artist Lisa, is set to come to cinemas very soon. The film, titled Always Lalisa, will have a limited release around the world in standard cinemas and IMAX, following the singer as she works on her solo career.

What is the film about?

The synopsis for the film reads: 'A feature-length documentary following a pivotal year in LISA’s life, as, for the first time since childhood, she steps away from BLACKPINK for a year of independence and self-discovery.'

The YouTube description adds: 'The film follows LISA as she writes, records, and releases her debut solo album, Alter Ego, makes her acting debut in the third season of The White Lotus, and prepares for her first major solo performance at the 2025 Coachella Music Festival.

'Born and raised in Thailand, LISA left home at fourteen to train in South Korea's demanding K-pop system, ultimately rising to global superstardom. But forging her own path, particularly in the Western music market, brings new pressures, relentless scrutiny, and the challenge of redefining herself on her own terms.'

Is there a trailer?

Yes, on Wednesday 9th September the trailer for Always Lalisa dropped and immediately became a hit with fans. Within minutes thousands of fans were watching the trailer, leaving comments such as: 'seeing her grow from a 16y rookie to a celebrity AS BLINKS AND LILYS we are so proud of queen and this year was lisa's year' (sic).

Another wrote: 'Lisa mentions the members and thanks them in every interview; how humble she is!'

When is it out?

It will be released in cinemas, including IMAX cinemas on 12th October 2026.
