Former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson has made a desperate plea on social media, after her car was stolen from her driveway over the weekend. The car, a Land Rover Defender, which features a private reg of 'JJ73SSY', was full with essential medical equipment for her twin daughters Ocean and Story.

Sharing a statement to her Instagram Story, the mum-of-two wrote: 'My car got stolen off my driveway in the early hours of this morning, if anyone sees a black Defender reg plate JJ73SSY.

'Please, if any of you have seen or know of any information can you DM me or contact the police.

'I have so much of my girls' hospital equipment in that car that's really needed'.

Jesy went on to confirm her car was stolen at around 3am from her driveway in Brentwood Essex, and was offering a £10,000 reward for anybody with information.

Shortly after their birth in May 2025, Jesy's daughters were diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a rare hereditary genetic condition that causes progressive muscle weakness and wasting by damaging motor neurons in the spinal cord.

In recent months, Jesy has been campaigning for all newborn babies to be screened for the genetic condition, with the 34-year-old meeting with Health Secretary Wes Streeting.

Sharing an update in early April, Jesy told her fans: 'A big step forward for SMA, ISE (In-Service Evaluation) have announced to start screening for SMA in England will now begin in October 2026. I am so proud, as this is a major milestone for the SMA Community.'

Although the screening in England will have a staggered roll out, it will now start significantly earlier than January 2027, the previously expected start date.

Speaking during an interview on This Morning last year, Jesy said of her daughters' health: "So now it’ll be a case of constant physio… we’ve been told they will probably never walk, probably never regain their neck strength, they are going to be in wheelchairs… but listen, there have been so many stories where parents have been told this and their children have gone on to do incredible things, so I believe you’ve just got to manifest this. They are still smiling, they are still happy and they have each other and that’s the thing I’m so grateful for. They are going through this together and I think this is beautiful. All I can do is try my best to be there for them, give them positive energy, and keep doing physio… my whole life has completely changed.

"My house looks like a hospital. My hallway is filled with medical stuff. It’s crazy how you can go from one extreme to the next. Story one of her twins is on a breathing machine at night because she’s not strong enough to breathe by herself, they have feeding tubes down their nose, and I’ve literally had to learn all this in the space of a few days since getting their diagnosis. It’s so much to deal with.”

"I’m still struggling with it, I’m not going to lie… I just want to be their mum, I don’t want to be a nurse. It’s hard. I just want to reiterate that if this is caught from birth it’s just life changing. I don’t think I’ll ever get over it or accept it, but all I can do is try and do my best and try and make change.”
