Coronation Street legend and I'm A Celeb: South Africa star Beverley Callard has provided her fans with an update on her ongoing cancer battle.
The 69-year-old, who first revealed she'd been diagnosed with early breast cancer during an interview earlier this year, posted a video of herself alongside her husband Jon McEwan to her Instagram page.
Bev and Jon recently relocated to Ireland after the actress landed a role in BBC soap Fair City. She captioned the video with: 'A trip to the breast clinic today… it went ok, not quite what I wanted to hear but a step forward nonetheless 😌 Hoping to get started as soon as possible!'.
Speaking to camera after her appointment, Bev said: “Well I went to the hospital today at quarter past three, and they all seemed very nice, obviously they’re new to me.
“They are a little concerned because they think I should’ve started the radiotherapy before now but of course because we moved house, it took a while for my medical records to come from England to Ireland et cetera but they’ve all arrived.
“I’ve got to go back on Thursday morning to see some more doctors and medical people and then they will begin it soon so it went okay, it went okay.
“So I will keep you updated”.
Fans of the Liz McDonald actress were quick to send their love. One commented: 'We have the most amazing Health care workers and everything will work out for you Bev. Thinking of you both ❤️'. (sic)
Another wrote: 'You got this Bev 💪💪 Will keep you in my prayer's for your treatment 🙏🙏 Take care of yourself and rest up. Sending lot's of love and healings ❤️', with a third adding: 'Stay positive you can beat it saying praters for you bev 🙏xxx'. (sic)
Another then said: 'I've just finished my radiotherapy Bev, lots of love to you and John, im going to be there with you in spirit x'. (sic)
Back in 2025, Bev signed up to take part in the second series of I'm A Celeb: South Africa, which was filmed last year before hitting our screens in April 2026.
Not knowing she had cancer at the time, Bev collapsed whilst filming the show and was forced to leave on medical grounds. She later confirmed she wouldn't be in attendance at the live final, after doctors advised her not to fly.
Speaking about her exit from the show, she said: "Of course, I didn't know then that I had cancer, but I just knew that it was the last couple of days there that I hadn't felt very well.
"I went into the Bush Telegraph the show's video diary room and apparently I lost consciousness for a little while. I just wasn't feeling myself.
"They took me to a medical hut, and they were amazing, they really looked after me and they said, 'You can't go back'.
"I said, 'Don't send me home, I'm sure I'll be fine'. I've jumped out of a plane, I've hung off a cliff, and I did want to succeed and make it through to the end. But that was the start of everything, really.
"So it's made me really emotional. But I will beat this. I will beat it."
