TV presenter Alison Hammond has shared a health update with worried fans after she took ill during Friday's (2nd October) episode of This Morning.
Alison, who was hosting the show with Dermot O'Leary at the time, could be heard panting and breathing heavily as she clutched her chest, whilst Dr Scott Miller was leading a phone-in about dogs.
Dermot guided Alison off the sofa off camera, with the show later going to an ad break. On the show's return, host Dermot told viewers: "Welcome back to This Morning. Alison is feeling a little unwell, so she’s just had to duck out.”
A few hours later, Alison has now taken to her Instagram Story to update her worried followers.
Sharing a video from her hospital bed, the 51-year-old said: "Hello, my lovelies. I know you’re all worried about me – honestly, I am fine, first of all.
"I’m getting my old ticker checked out! I had a little bit of a palpitation, and now I’m getting it all checked out. But I think I’m OK. I’m hoping it was just a little panic attack or something like that.
‘I love you all. Thank you for all your lovely messages. I’m so sorry I left you! I would never normally do that. I would never leave a TV show, so you know I wasn’t very well.
‘But hopefully I’m gonna be alright. The doctors are so lovely, and they’re checking me out."
After seeing the worrying scenes on air, many This Morning fans took to social media to send their well wishes to the popular presenter.
One wrote: 'Sending love and get well wishes ro @alisonhammond55 hope you are ok ❤️xx', with another adding: 'I hope Alison is ok ❤️'. (sic)
Another said: 'Get well soon Alison and take care of yourself ❤️', with somebody else adding: 'Hope Alison is ok 😢'. (sic)
We wish Alison a speedy recovery!
