Man charged after nearly £900,000 worth of cannabis seized in Leith and north Edinburgh
A 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences in Leith and the north of Edinburgh.
Officers carried out warrants at properties on Salamander Street, Breadalbane Street and Western Harbour Way on Tuesday.
During the searches, cannabis with an estimated street value of around £895,000 was recovered, along with cash.
The man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Detective Inspector Gavin Howatt said the seizure highlights ongoing efforts to tackle serious organised crime in the city.
He added that information from the public remains vital in targeting those involved in the supply of drugs, and urged anyone with concerns to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously.
