Police pursue stolen vehicle leading to arrests and drug charges
Two teenage boys have been arrested following a police pursuit involving a reported stolen vehicle in Grimsby.
The incident began when officers spotted the vehicle on Humberstone Road in Cleethorpes at around 10.30pm on Thursday evening.
The driver reportedly failed to stop when requested by police and continued to drive erratically.
Resources from the Roads Policing Team, Dog Section, Patrol, Neighbourhood Policing Teams, and National Police Air Support (NPAS) worked together in the operation.
The vehicle was stopped on Legsby Avenue in Grimsby, where five individuals allegedly fled on foot in an attempt to evade arrest.
A police dog, PD Gas, helped detain a 16-year-old boy in People’s Park, Grimsby.
He was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, and several other driving offenses.
A search revealed class B drugs and phones suspected to be linked to drug supply were seized from the vehicle.
The teenager was further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs.
He has been released on conditional bail as investigations continue.
Additionally, a 17-year-old boy was located in a further search of the area.
After being searched, he was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug and released under investigation.
