Two men die in A614 collision

Officers are investigating a two-vehicle road traffic collision, near to Holme Road in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, at around 9.55pm last night (Sunday, 18 January 2026), in which two men died.

It is reported a blue Land Rover was travelling northbound along the A614 from Howden, towards Holme-on-Spalding-Moor when it is believed to have been in collision with a white Ford Transit Van, travelling in the opposite direction, near to Holme Road outside of Chestnut Farm.

Emergency services attended and the two occupants of the Land Rover, a 27-year-old man and 55-year-old man, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the van, a 31-year-old man, was taken to hospital for injuries, which are believed to be life-changing at this time.

Road closures were put in place at the time on the A614, Spaldington near Howden, to allow emergency services to work safely, and the road has now been reopened.
