Tribute to a man who died in collision on Holme Road
He's been named as David Evans
A 55-year-old man, who died after a road traffic collision on Holme Road, in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, on Sunday, 18 January, has been named by his family as David Evans.
In tribute to David, his family said: “Dave, known to so many as Devis was my whole world. He was my rock, my soulmate, and my best friend. He wanted to get married this year and had big plans for us and with his children.
"Dave had an infectious aura and could light up any room the moment he walked in. It was impossible not to love him. He had the biggest heart and was the craziest, funniest man you could ever meet. No matter how bad your day was, Dave would always find a way to make you laugh.
"He adored his children, Joe, Libby, Dominic and Josh with every inch of his being. They were his absolute pride and joy.
"We are all utterly destroyed by what has happened. Dave meant the world to everyone who knew him, and no one will ever replace him.”
David’s family is being supported by specially trained officers at this time.
At around 9.55pm on Sunday, 18 January, it was reported that a blue Land Rover was travelling northbound on the A614 from Howden, when it is believed to have been in collision with a white Ford Transit van, travelling in the opposite direction.
Emergency services attended and two occupants of the Land Rover, David and Patrick Shaughnessy were pronounced deceased on the scene.
The driver of the van was taken to hospital, for treatment to injuries that are believed to be life-changing.
