Three arrested following disturbance in Grimsby
It happened over the weekend.
Three people have been arrested following reports of a disturbance outside of a property on James Street, Grimsby on Saturday 10 October.
At around 3.10pm, it was reported that a man had attended an address on James Street and threatened a man with what is thought to be a handgun whilst demanding money before fleeing the scene in a white vehicle.
Detective Inspector Darren Gray said: “Following the report, officers were immediately deployed to ensure the safety of the man at the address and an investigation was launched.
“Whilst I understand a report of this nature is concerning to the community, I would like to reassure the public that nobody was thankfully physically harmed because of the incident.
“I can confirm the suspect is thought to have attended the wrong address, having intended to visit another man thought to be known to him.
“Initial enquiries led to us to identify a vehicle believed to be used to flee the scene and on Saturday afternoon, the driver, a 33-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
“Officers continued to conduct further investigation which then resulted in a vehicle being stopped on the A180 yesterday (Monday, 12 October).
“As a result, following a vehicle search, a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and robbery. The driver of the vehicle, a 56-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
“Detectives are continuing to explore all lines of enquiry to identify the weapon, and I would encourage anyone who has any concerns or any information which they feel may help with our enquiries, to please speak to one of the officers who are in the area to provide reassurance.
