Teenager jailed after drugs found
Harris Dukes had cocaine worth more than £1,000
A 19 year-old man, who was found carrying cocaine worth more than £1,000, has been jailed, after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
Appearing at Hull Crown Court on Friday, 26 June 2026, Harris Dukes, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to two years and two months behind bars.
Dukes was arrested in May 2026, after officers were in the area of Dunswell and spotted a vehicle, suspected to be linked to an earlier report of an attempted theft of a motorcycle.
After officers requested the driver of the vehicle to stop, a short pursuit started, leading to the driver eventually coming to a stop on Highcourt in Orchard Park, before attempting to decamp from the vehicle, to evade arrest.
The passenger, identified as Dukes, was arrested and, when searched by officers, a package containing cocaine was found, worth an estimated £1000.
The driver, a 21 year-old man, was also arrested at the scene and remains on police bail pending further investigation.
Leading the investigation was Detective Constable Heather Butler from the Kinetic Organised Crime Group Team, who said: “I hope this result gives a warning to those who think it’s okay to possess drugs in order to supply them across our communities.
“Drugs crime greatly impacts our communities, and we work relentlessly to disrupt and dismantle those responsible.
“I would like to thank our colleagues and partnering agencies for their continued support and all the work they do to make a real difference to help take drugs off our streets.
“We investigate all information that we receive, and we would like to reassure members of the public that whilst you may not see immediate action, the information you provide helps us build the bigger picture of evidence to have the best possible chance of conviction.
