A man has been arrested after a suspected stolen vehicle from the Lincolnshire area was found travelling in Grimsby just after midnight this morning (Monday, 18 August).

Officers initially spotted the vehicle in Scartho and when requested to stop by officers, the driver of the vehicle reportedly failed to stop leading to a short pursuit.

The driver of the vehicle eventually came to a stop on Sixhills Street at the junction with Donnington Street, and the driver, a 31-year-old man, allegedly attempted to flee from the scene on foot before officers detained him.

The man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop when requested by officers, dangerous driving, and driving whilst unfit through drugs.

He remains in police custody assisting officers with ongoing enquiries at this time.
