Police extend search for missing man from Beverley
Police make direct appeal to speak to people who may have been on the banks of the River Hull
Police searching for a missing man from Beverley have launched a fresh appeal for information.
It's now days since the 55 year old - named publicly as Richard - was last seen heading north along the River Hull towards High Eske nature reserve.
Officers at Humberside Police say they want to speak to anyone who may have been on the banks opposite the Crown and Anchor pub at Tickton between 9.30am – 1.30pm on Monday 30 December, either on foot, by boat or any other type of transport, to get in touch.
Missing person’s lead, Chief Inspector Owen Stafford from our Locate Team said: “Over the course of the last 11-days, we have been carrying out extensive lines of enquiries and following up on numerous leads to try and trace Richard’s movements and piece together where he may have travelled to.
“We know that Richard walked across Molescroft Pavilion at 9.08am that morning (Monday 30 December), he is then thought to have walked on Hull Bridge Road, Tickton before heading east towards the Crown and Anchor pub.
“He was later seen on CCTV heading north along the banks of the river Hull in the direction of High Eske nature reserve at 9.37am. This is the last confirmed sighting of him.
“With support from specialist trained search officers, scent dogs and the Underwater Search unit, teams have been extending their searches to try and trace Richard’s next steps. As part of this line of enquiry, we are keen to speak to anyone who may been on the river banks, opposite to the Crown and Anchor pub, either on foot, by boat or any other form of transport between 9.30am – 1.30pm, around the time Richard was last seen. “I would also urge anyone who may have a boat moored in this area and has any CCTV that could assist with our enquiries to please get in touch, as well as checking outbuildings and any other covered areas that Richard may have taken shelter in.
“We have specialist teams again out today carrying out searches and we continue to work closely with Humberside Fire and Rescue and other partnering agencies.
“Richard is described as being 6ft tall with dark brown hair, a bushy beard and is believed to be wearing a tan coat, dark denim trousers with a dark hat.
