Scunthorpe CDC to expand audiology clinics and house Community Dental Service
£22m centre continues to grow as part of North Lincolnshire healthcare
The £22 million Scunthorpe Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) is expanding its services with additional audiology clinics and a new home for the Community Dental Service.
Since opening, the Lindum Street centre has welcomed more than 32,000 patients between April and November 2025. The CDC offers diagnostics such as cardio-respiratory tests, blood tests, X-rays, non-obstetric ultrasounds, and CT scans.
The expansion includes:
Audiology Clinics: A newly-recruited audiologist will run diagnostic appointments from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5:30 pm, with plans for extended hours to follow.
Community Dental Service: Formerly based at Ashby, this service will now operate from two locations—Scunthorpe CDC and the Ironstone Centre—allowing quicker access for patients.
Senior General Manager for Head and Neck, Vicki Quinn, said: “This is a really exciting time as we enhance Scunthorpe’s audiology offering and use available space for our Community Dental Service. It helps us to see patients more quickly and efficiently.”
General Manager for Community Diagnostic Centres, Leah Stabler, encouraged patients to consider referrals to the CDC for diagnostic tests rather than the hospital when possible: “We offer flexibility with evening and weekend appointments, and patients have praised the quick turnaround, bright building, and convenient parking.”
Local councillors Judith Matthews and Janet Lee visited the centre recently and praised its modern, spacious, and relaxing design for both patients and staff.
The team at Scunthorpe CDC is eager to further increase footfall as services are expanded by February.
