Police arrest disqualified driver after chase near Hull

Suspect allegedly rammed police vehicle and drove wrong way

A 29-year-old man has been arrested by Humberside Police after a vehicle linked to a disqualified driver was spotted during routine patrols.

The arrest followed an incident in which the driver reportedly rammed a police vehicle before fleeing the scene and driving the wrong way down the A63 towards Hedon at around 3:30 AM on Wednesday, 19th August.

Fortunately, no officers were injured in the initial encounter.

Later, the same vehicle was sighted on Hessle Road in Hull at approximately 4:15 PM the next day, Thursday, 20th August.

Police stopped the vehicle near Humberside Airport, and the driver was arrested at the scene.

He faces several charges including suspicion of failing to stop when requested by officers, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, and drug driving after failing a roadside drugs test.

The man has been released on conditional bail as investigations continue.
