North Lincolnshire Council has issued more than 6,600 fines targeting littering and antisocial behaviour, as part of its ongoing effort to improve community standards.

Recent figures show a significant increase in enforcement activity, with 2,445 fixed penalty notices issued over the past year–an increase of nearly 19 percent from the previous year.

The council has also expanded its focus to include irresponsible parking, with 341 penalties issued since March.

Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, emphasised the council's commitment to fostering cleaner, safer communities by targeting those who disregard community rules.

The council will extend its crackdown for an additional three years, addressing community concerns and maintaining enforcement against littering, dog fouling, and breaches of Public Spaces Protection Orders.

Cllr John Davison, cabinet member for Ashby, Bottesford, and Scunthorpe, reinforced the council’s stance, highlighting the necessity of penalising those who fail to uphold their responsibilities.

The council's expanded enforcement efforts now include on-street parking to focus on areas such as schools and other locations where residents have voiced concerns.

Enforcement officers remain dedicated to tackling offences and promoting community welfare in North Lincolnshire.
