Man and woman arrested after burglary and disturbance in North Ferriby
Armed officers respond swiftly to Plantation Drive incident
Armed Response Officers arrested a man and a woman following a reported burglary on Plantation Drive in North Ferriby on the evening of 14th July.
Just before 6pm, reports emerged of two individuals gaining entry to a property and stealing televisions.
A subsequent altercation, involving threats with a suspected metal bar, led to a man being assaulted and suffering minor injuries.
Officers reached the scene promptly, and as they approached, a man attempted to flee but was apprehended after a brief foot chase.
The 37-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges including burglary dwelling with intent to steal, assault, and affray.
A corkscrew found during the search prompted further arrest on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.
Additionally, a 59-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of burglary.
Searches revealed suspected class A drugs and scissors, leading to further arrest on suspicion of drug possession and another weapon charge.
Both suspects remain in custody aiding ongoing investigations.
