Man arrested for drink and drug driving in North East Lincolnshire
Police respond to broken-down vehicle and find suspected drugs
Officers in North East Lincolnshire have arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of drink driving, drug driving, and possession of class A drugs.
The arrest followed reports of a broken-down vehicle on Waithe Lane in Brigsley during the early hours of Tuesday, 7th July 2026.
Upon arriving at the scene, the driver admitted to consuming alcohol and drugs.
A subsequent roadside breath test and drugs swipe resulted in the arrest after officers discovered suspected class A drugs.
The man remains in police custody and is assisting with ongoing enquiries.
Authorities continue to stress that drink or drug driving, speeding, dangerous driving, or using a mobile phone while driving will not be tolerated.
