A Hull hospital is to receive government funding to upgrade facilitiles in the building.

£3.9m is going to be used for internal improvements and ventilation systems.

Group Director of Estates, Facilities and Development, Tom Myers, said: “We are happy to have secured this additional funding, which will allow us to address some of our most critical infrastructure issues across our hospital sites, improving the background infrastructure that allows our hospitals to run safely and efficiently for our patients.

“Like many NHS organisations, one of the biggest challenges we face is the upkeep and maintenance of our aging estates and facilities and this funding will allow us to deal with some of these issues.

“We will be focusing on things that will make the biggest difference to our patients – things like repairing and replacing lifts at HRI; upgrading the medical gas systems and carrying out roof works to help keep our buildings warm and water tight.”
