Man, 23, dies after car hits tree on the B1230 in East Yorkshire

Witnesses are being urged to come forward following the crash near Gilberdyke

A 23-year-old man has died after a car crash on the B1230 towards Gilberdyke in the early hours of today, 21st November 2025.

Sid Sefton, whose family has named him, was driving a blue Ford eastbound on the B1230 at around 3:20am when it is believed the vehicle left the road and collided with a tree.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, and Sid was taken to hospital for treatment, but he died a short time later.

Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage that could help with their inquiries to get in touch.
