Electric vehicle event returns to Hull and East Riding showcasing sustainable transport options

Explore EVs, meet experts, and test drive at Let’s Go Electric!

Residents of Hull and the East Riding have another opportunity to explore electric vehicles (EVs) and sustainable transport options at the Let’s Go Electric! event.

Scheduled for Saturday, 20th June from 10am to 3pm, the event will take place at the Priory Park & Ride site, offering insights into the benefits of EV adoption.

Organised by Hull City Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council, the event will feature electric cars, buses, and eBikes, alongside:

A wide range of EVs from manufacturers like Ford, MG, Jeep, Tesla, Kia, and many more

Discussions with local dealers and industry experts about the latest EV advancements

Opportunities to test drive multiple EVs

Information about council-supported EV projects, including charging points and electric buses

Live EV charging demonstrations

Exhibitors such as Evans Halshaw Ford, JCT600 VW, and Stoneacre Motor Group, among others, will be present.

Attendees can enjoy free parking, access regular bus services, and partake in free electric bus taster trips courtesy of Stagecoach East Midlands.

Councillor Mark Ieronimo emphasised the importance of exploring cleaner transport options,

"Transport is a major contributor to carbon emissions, and cleaner vehicles are one of the ways we can improve air quality and support a healthier city."

The event promises valuable insights for those considering EV ownership by demonstrating potential savings and practical benefits.

Councillor Nick Coultish encouraged participation,

"I would encourage anyone with an interest to come along, ask questions, and see what the latest vehicles and technologies have to offer."

Andy Lewis of Let’s Experience Electric noted increased public curiosity in EVs due to rising fuel costs and emerging models.
