Investigation launched after car and cyclist collision in Bridlington

An 81-year-old man is in hospital with life-threating injuries

Police in Bridlington are appealing for witnesses after a crash on Scarborough Road yesterday (2 June).

The force were called to reports of the collision, involving a car and cyclist, on the A165 at around 12pm.

Officers say the cyclist and a black Chevrolet Captiva were involved in the crash at the junction of Grindale Lane.

Emergency services attended and the cyclist, a 81-year-old man, was taken to hospital to receive treatment to injuries which are thought to be life threatening.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
