Hull taxi firm installs life-saving kits
WER2 uses a ten-pence fare rise to fund Bleed Control Kits
A Hull taxi firm, WER2, has taken proactive steps to enhance public safety by installing its first Bleed Control Kit, funded through a minor fare increase.
The move comes after an incident where one of their drivers was threatened with a knife.
Nick Padgett, the boss of WER2, announced that 20 more kits are ready for deployment and is inviting the community to suggest where they should be placed next.
The initiative was supported by a ten pence fare increase, dedicated to acquiring life-saving equipment.
This decision reflects the firm's commitment to ensuring safety both for its drivers and the wider community.
The Bleed Control Kits are designed to provide immediate care in emergency situations. They can be crucial in stabilising injuries while awaiting professional medical help.
The firm encourages residents to voice their opinions on locations where the kits could make the most impact.
