Man arrested after disturbance outside Hull takeaway

Officers respond to reports of threats and property damage on Newland Avenue

A man has been arrested following a disturbance outside a takeaway on Newland Avenue in Hull last night (Monday, 27th October).

Police were called at around 8.15pm to reports of a man allegedly causing a disturbance outside the premises. Officers from the patrol teams and dog unit quickly attended and located a man suspected of causing damage to the property and verbally threatening people in the area.

A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, threatening to kill, and using threatening behaviour to cause distress.

He remains in police custody and is assisting officers with their enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage from the area, is urged to contact police on 101, quoting log 457 of 27th October.
