Thousands expected as Hull KR prepares to celebrate treble win

Hull City Council is preparing to host the team after winning the Super League

Thousands of Hull KR fans are set to arrive into the city to celebrate the team's treble win at the Betfred Super League.

Hull KR came out on top during the final of the show on Saturday (October 11th) against Wigan Warriors in Manchester.

Their victory 24-6 cemented an unprecedented treble win, and fans will now be heading to the city to watch the team pass through the city in an open-top bus parade.

The bus will begin its journey from Sewell Group Craven Park at around 3:45pm and will make their way through the city, culminating with a lifting of the trophy at the City Hall at around 4:30pm.

Events will begin in the city from 3:30pm, according to Hull City Council and will feature a host of music and other entertainment before the team at the hall to raise the trophy.

Big screens will also be installed so that viewers can watch the team's journey through the city, as well as some moments from the match that saw Hull KR finish on top.

Speaking on the planned events, Cllr Mike Ross from Hull City Council said he was incredibly proud of the team.

"A tremendous amount of effort has gone into your fantastic season, and it is only right that the council helps you to celebrate this. Well done, you have done the city proud."

Meanwhile, Paragon Street and Carr Lane will be temporarily shut in order to accommodate the event itself, with all diversions being cleared by 8pm.
