Hull City FC fined £30,000 over homophobic chanting

Hull City has been fined £30,000 by the Football Association over homophobic chanting by some supporters during February’s FA Cup match against Chelsea.
The club has accepted a charge of breaking FA rules and has also been given an action plan and warned about future conduct.
Three supporters identified as taking part in the chanting have been banned from attending Hull City matches for at least three years.
A Hull City FC spokesperson said: "Hull City condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the offensive and inappropriate language used by the supporters responsible.
"The club operates a strict zero-tolerance policy and will continue to work with the relevant authorities to ensure appropriate action is taken against anyone responsible for discriminatory behaviour.
"Hull City reaffirms its commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and all our supporters have a role to play in ensuring matchdays are safe and welcoming for all."
The FA charge relates to the match against Chelsea in February, with Hull City due to return to Stamford Bridge tomorrow (12 September).
Supporters are being urged to report any discriminatory abuse by texting the word HULL, followed by what and where it happened, to 60066, or via Kick It Out.
