Hull fly-tippers fined over £10,000 for illegal waste disposal
Eight individuals receive fines and criminal records for offences in Hull
Eight people in Hull have been prosecuted for fly-tipping and ordered to pay over £10,000 in fines and costs following a series of court dates.
The offenders received criminal records and faced financial penalties as a result of illegally dumping waste across various locations in Hull.
Hull City Council continues to warn people to dispose of waste legally to avoid court actions and criminal records.
Councillor Charles Quinn, who is responsible for the environment at Hull City Council, stated that the behaviour is not tolerated due to its adverse effects on the community and environment.
"The individuals prosecuted could have avoided court action by responding to our correspondence and paying the initial fine," Quinn said.
He emphasised the importance of using accessible waste disposal services in Hull and encouraged people to report illegal waste activity.
Details of the Successful Prosecutions
Ms Kimberley Raines of Chesnut Avenue, Hull, was ordered to pay fines totalling £1,579 for fly-tipping bulky household waste near Worthing Street in November 2025.
Mr John Robert Biggs of Ashburn Grove, Hull, faced fines and costs totalling £1,432 along with a two-year criminal behaviour order for dumping bagged household waste in January 2026.
Miss Floarea-Loredana Basceacea of Holland Street, Hull, was fined £946 for fly-tipping waste on Holland Street in December 2025.
Ms Mariana Sedefa and Mr Matei Lorent of Blenheim Street, Hull, received a combined fine of £3,204 for fly-tipping on Blenheim Street in January 2026.
Miss Christine Carter of Rose Avenue, Hull, faced fines totalling £678 for dumping waste on Rose Avenue in February 2026.
Ms Claudia Curte of Ferndale, Redcar Street, Hull, received a fine of £1,190 for fly-tipping household waste on Redcar Street in January 2026.
Miss Georgina-Cristina Popescu of Mayfield Street, Hull, was fined £1,066 for dumping household waste on Mayfield Street in December 2025.
