Hull City have released a statement confirming the EFL has imposed a transfer embargo on the club with immediate effect.

It'll last for around 18 months - that's three transfer windows.

It's thought to be because of payments not being made to other clubs.

The club says they'll appeal the restrictions and are confident of resolving the matter as soon as possible.

In a statement the Tigers said:

"Hull City can confirm that we have received notification from the EFL that the Club is subject to a transfer embargo and a three-window fee restriction with immediate effect.

"We will appeal the three-window fee restriction and are confident of resolving the matter as soon as possible."
