Hornsea man fined over comments made to other members of the public in Beverley
The 75-year-old was convicted at Hull Magistrates Court of a racially/religiously aggravated public order offence
A man from Hornsea has been convicted of a racially/religiously aggravated public order offence.
It happened on Toll Gavel in Beverley in December 2023.
Concerns were raised by distressed members of the public due to the nature of Michael Jones' comments towards them.
The 75-year-old of Ranby Crescent in Hornsea was convicted at Hull Magistrates Court on Tuesday 27th May.
Humberside Police said:
"Beverley Neighbourhood Policing team conducted extensive enquiries to gather evidence which has led to his conviction, and he has subsequently been ordered to pay a total of £720 in fines, court costs, and victim surcharges."
