Goole is set to celebrate its bicentenary in 2026 with a year-long series of events and activities showcasing the history, heritage, and achievements of the town.

Local organisations and community groups have come together to create a busy programme, culminating in a special weekend of festivities planned for mid-July to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the town’s establishment.

Throughout the year, residents and visitors can enjoy a wide variety of attractions, including an internationally renowned art installation, exhibitions, film screenings, festivals, community picnics, and even a lantern parade.

The Goole 200 project has created a dedicated website to gather all the details about these events, ensuring that everyone has access to up-to-date information on the celebrations.

With events planned across 2026, the town’s bicentenary promises to be a memorable year for both the local community and those visiting Goole to join the celebrations.
