Free flu vaccinations offered at NHS pop-up clinics in Humber and North Yorkshire
Be Winter Wise roadshow visits local community venues.
The NHS is launching pop-up clinics across Humber and North Yorkshire, offering free flu vaccinations this autumn.
Starting Monday, 26th October, the Be Winter Wise roadshow will provide school-aged children and eligible adults with immunisations at community venues.
Delivered in partnership with Vaccination UK, these sessions offer an easy and fast way for families to protect themselves before flu season peaks.
No appointments are needed, allowing families to drop in during the day to get vaccinated, talk to healthcare professionals, and receive advice on maintaining health during the colder months.
Dr Nigel Wells, Medical Director at NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, highlighted the importance of vaccination in combating seasonal illnesses and urged eligible individuals to attend the clinics.
The UK Health Security Agency notes last year's flu vaccination programme prevented 100,000 hospital admissions and saved 7,000 lives.
Over four weeks, the clinics will visit Hull, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Scarborough, Selby, Whitby, Pickering, and Stokesley. Event details can be found on the Let’s Get Better website.
Families can also manage winter health by keeping a stocked medicine cabinet and seeking help promptly when feeling unwell.
Local pharmacies, GP surgeries, and NHS 111 can offer advice and treatment before issues escalate. For life-threatening emergencies, contact 999.
