Fire crews attend collapsed power cable near Beverley

Firefighters have been dealing with a collapsed power cable between Beverley and Tickton.
They were called last night just after 10 o' clock to Hull Bridge Road, where a wooden pole was on its side and the wire was hanging approximately 12 feet above the tarmac.
Crews helped Humberside Police to close the road until the power company, Northern Powergrid, arrived.
The 66kV line has now been reinstated.
A spokesperson for Northern Powergrid said: “We will need to schedule another full road closure to carry out permanent repairs.
“No customers were affected during this incident, and none will be impacted when we return to complete the work.”
