Three-month resurfacing scheme to begin on Falkland Road in Hull
A major resurfacing scheme is set to begin on Falkland Road in east Hull.
Hull City Council says the three-month project in Marfleet will repair and resurface the concrete carriageway, which is showing signs of deterioration.

The scheme will include resurfacing the road, repairing the concrete road beam, replacing kerbs and footpath crossings, and repainting road markings.
Work is due to start on Monday, May 11 and is expected to be completed by Friday, August 7, weather permitting.
The project will be delivered in five phases to help reduce disruption for residents and businesses.

Work will take place between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Residents and businesses will receive advance notice through letter drops, and information boards will be placed on site.
Pedestrian footpaths will remain open throughout the scheme, while bin collections are expected to continue as normal. Emergency access will be maintained where possible.
However, driveways within the work area will not be accessible while works are taking place. Residents are being advised to park outside the closure area, as vehicles will not be able to drive through the work site once the scheme is underway.
Bus stops along Falkland Road will also be suspended during the works, with notices due to be placed at stops giving more details about service changes.
Angela Blake, assistant director of major projects and infrastructure at Hull City Council, said: “This section of the carriageway is showing signs of deterioration, so it’s important that we carry out these essential repairs.
“Not only will this work help futureproof our road network, but it will also ensure the route remains safe for all users.
“We understand that any roadworks can cause inconvenience and we appreciate the patience and understanding of residents, businesses and road users while these essential improvements are delivered.”
The scheme will be carried out by Wright Civil Engineering Ltd on behalf of Hull City Council.
The council says all dates are weather dependent and may be subject to change.
