Craven Park Stadium in Hull will be the centre of a large-scale emergency training operation this Wednesday (16 July), as blue-light teams from across the region come together for a crucial exercise.

Fire crews, police officers, ambulance staff and stadium safety teams will all be involved in the pre-planned drill, which aims to test how well different agencies work together in a simulated emergency.

As part of the day, Humberside Fire and Rescue will deploy their Mass Decontamination Unit, demonstrating their role in the country’s national emergency response plans.

Although people may see a heavy presence of emergency vehicles in the area, officials are stressing that there is no cause for concern.

The event also aligns with efforts to conserve water following a hosepipe ban introduced by Yorkshire Water.

No running water will be used during the exercise.

Organisers say it’s all about being ready to respond quickly and effectively in real-life emergencies and are thanking the public for their patience and support.
