Eleven arrested in Hull in June over immigration crime
They were detained as part of Operation Lockstream
Police in Hull arrested 11 people last month in a coordinated effort against organised immigration crime.
The arrests were part of an intensification period under Operation Lockstream, headed by the Organised Immigration Crime Taskforce (OICDT).
Officials executed multiple warrants and conducted visits to several properties, aided by the Kinetic Intervention Team and Immigration Enforcement.
Seven men and four women were apprehended for offences, including illegal entry, facilitation of illegal entry, assaulting emergency workers, money laundering, conspiracy to defraud, theft, and drug possession.
All 11 individuals have been conditionally bailed pending further investigation.
Detective Sergeant Richard Kirk from the Modern Slavery, Human Trafficking and Organised Immigration Crime Team (MSHT/OIC) emphasised the ignificance of these operations.
"Supporting national operations like this is crucial, and forms part of our ongoing commitment to ensure slavery, exploitation, illegal entry into the UK, and other associated criminality, is prevented, as well as raising awareness of the issues around these kinds of offences," Kirk said.
