A man has been arrested in Hull after reportedly failing a roadside drugs test and allegedly assaulting an officer.
The 21-year-old was caught speeding on Leads Road in Hull today (30th October).
He reportedly failed a drugs test after being stopped by an officer, then allegedly assaulted him whilst trying to escape.
A Humberside police spokesperson said, "A man has been arrested after an officer spotted a car driving at speed on Leads Road in Hull in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, 30 October 2025).
"The officer, a Specials Constable from our Roads Policing Team, requested for the driver to stop and a roadside drug swipe was conducted which he reportedly failed.
"The driver then allegedly became aggressive towards the officer and proceeded to push and assault him whilst being detained in an attempt to flee and evade arrest. The officer sustained minor injuries as a result of this.
"A 21-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drug driving, obstructing a constable in the execution of duty and assault by beating of an emergency worker.
"He remains in police custody whilst enquiries are ongoing."
