Cottingham Ward Councillor Phil Redshaw has requested an urgent safety review of Mill House Woods Lane in Cottingham after two recent vehicle overturning incidents at the same location.

The first incident occurred on 11th September involving a Land Rover Discovery, followed by a similar accident with a Mercedes this morning (1 October).

Both incidents took place on a narrow section of the lane, raising concerns about the safety of pedestrians and other road users.

No injuries were reported in either accident, but given the potential risks, Councillor Redshaw has reached out to the East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Traffic Management Team to investigate the likely causes and to propose immediate measures to mitigate future risks.

The incidents occurred during times when the lane is frequented by pedestrians, especially parents and children commuting to school.

Councillor Redshaw stressed the urgency of addressing these safety concerns to prevent more severe consequences in the future.
