Man charged after stabbings in Hull

A 48-year-old is accused of two counts of attempted murder

A man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, after a man and woman were stabbed in Hull during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Philip Gonsalves, 48-years-old, of New Bridge Road in Hull has been remanded into custody to appear at Hull Magistrates Court this morning.

Officers were called to the junction of Buckingham Street and Brecon Street in Hull at around 2am to reports that a man had sustained stab wounds. A further call was received at around 3am to reports that a woman had also been discovered with stab wounds on Rosmead Street in Hull.

Both the man and woman remain in hospital with serious injuries.
