Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team has experienced its busiest Bank Holiday period on record, attending 16 incidents from Saturday through Monday.

The final incident occurred late last night with an urgent multiagency search initiated due to reports of a person in the water off Bridlington South Beach.

Emergency teams including Bridlington and Hornsea Coastguard Rescue Teams, Bridlington RNLI’s Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) and All-weather Lifeboat (ALB), the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter, and Humberside Police participated in the demanding search operation.

The search spanned several hours, thoroughly covering the shoreline, the beach, and a vast expanse of sea off Bridlington's coast.

In the early hours of the morning, additional information was received, prompting completion of the search effort with no evidence of any untoward findings.

The teams, lifeboats, and helicopter assets stood down, pending any further developments or information.

Details remain limited at this time, and no further updates have been released.

Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team expressed gratitude to all emergency service personnel and volunteers for their dedication during this especially challenging Bank Holiday.
