A case of bird flu has been identified at a commercial poultry business in East Yorkshire.

The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs said on Saturday that a case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 has been identified at the premises near Beverley.

A 3km protection zone has been declared around the site, along with a 10km surveillance zone.

All poultry on the premises will be humanely killed.

It is almost a week since measures were introduced to ensure all poultry and captive birds were kept indoors to prevent the spread of the disease.
