Woman, 81, dies after being hit by car in Beverley
A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene but has since been released pending further investigation
An 81-year-old woman has died following a collision on Friday morning (19th December) in Beverley.
A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving over the specified drug limit and causing injury by careless driving.
He's since been released from custody.
Emergency services were called to Norwood, Beverley near the junction with Mill Lane after reports a grey Land Rover Freelander was involved in a collision with a pedestrian.
The 81-year-old woman was taken to hospital but died from her injuries on Saturday evening (20th December).
Officers say her family are being supported.
An investigation is ongoing, and officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident that look place at around 7.40am on Friday, to contact them by calling 101 and quoting log 73 of 19 December.
