Motorcyclist dies after being found in ditch in Twycross
Investigation launched into what caused the collision on Friday morning
Leicestershire Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash involving a motorbike in Twycross.
The force says it received a call from East Midlands Ambulance Service at 10.49am yesterday, about an injured man found in a ditch on Sheepy Road.
Despite medical assistance, the man, in his sixties, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A silver Triumph Thruxton motorbike was discovered near the man.
The road was temporarily closed for a thorough examination but has since reopened.
Detective Sergeant Kasie McMahon from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is leading the investigation.
She said, “We believe that the bike was travelling towards Twycross when it left the road."
“We would like to appeal to anyone who saw the collision, the rider beforehand or the circumstances leading up to it to please get in touch."
“Anyone who may also have dashcam footage which captured anything relating to the collision is also asked to make contact.”
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
