Teenagers arrested after fight by Sutton-in-Ashfield supermarket

Three men injured in incident as investigations continue

Police have taken two teenagers into custody as they investigate reports of an altercation involving weapons outside a supermarket in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Officers responded to the Asda on Priestsic Road around 11.57pm on Friday, 13th March 2026.

Three men sustained injuries during the incident, none of which are believed to be life-threatening.

A 17-year-old boy experienced a slash wound to his arm, a 24-year-old man was injured at the elbow, and a 23-year-old man suffered an arm injury.

Two 16-year-old boys were arrested on the morning of Sunday, 15th March, under suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Detective Sergeant Adam Penn of Nottinghamshire Police said: “We do not tolerate violence or those who think it is acceptable to carry or use weapons.

"Following these arrests we continue to investigate this incident and efforts are ongoing to trace other people believed to have been involved.

"If anyone has information about those involved who has not yet spoken with us, please call 101 quoting incident 868 of 13 March, or speak with Crimestoppers if you wish to remain anonymous.”

Witnesses with information are encouraged to come forward to assist in the investigation.
